The first of which will be the new E350. It will feature the same BlueEfficiency CGI 3.5-litre V6 direct-injection petrol engine as seen in the SLK350. Producing 224kW of power and 360Nm of torque, acceleration times from 0-100km/h remain at 6.3 seconds like the existing E350 (200kW/350Nm). The new engine will boast fuel consumption figures of around 7.0L/100km, improved from the current 9.4L/100km.

At the high end of the range, the new E500 is expected to drop the naturally-aspirated 5.5-litre V8 in international markets. Currently producing 285kW of power and 530Nm of torque, it will be shelved in favour of the 4.7-litre twin-turbo V8, as seen in the new CL500. It produces 320kW and a whopping 700Nm. Unfortunately, Mercedes-Benz Australia says this engine will not feature in the upcoming model just yet.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the scale, the Mercedes-Benz E220 and E250 CGI and CDI will get the Mercedes-Benz seven-speed 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission. This will bring fuel consumption figures down by 0.4L/100km across the range; from 5.3L to 4.9L/100km for the 220 and 7.0L to 6.6L/100km for the 250 CGI.

The new models will hit the market sometime during the last quarter of this year.
