The new C-Class Coupe will join the new C-Class sedan and wagon with a similar range of engines and trim levels. This means there’s a Coupe version of the C 180 BlueEFFICIENCY, with the 1.8-litre petrol four-cylinder engine producing 115kW and 250Nm; the C 250 CDI, with the 2.1-litre diesel four-cylinder producing 150kW and 500Nm; the C 250 BlueEFFICIENCY, with the 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol engine producing 150kW and 310Nm; and the C 350 BlueEFFICIENCY, with the new 3.5-litre petrol V6 producing 225kW and 370Nm.

The most efficient of the four is the C 250 CDI diesel offering an average fuel consumption rating of just 5.1L/100km, followed by the C 250 petrol with an average rating of 7.0L/100km, then the C 180 with a rating of 7.3L/100km, and finally the C 350 with a rating of 8.3L/100km.

These consumption figures offer significant improvements over the outgoing two-model CLC-Class line-up. This was made up of the CLC 200K and CLC 200K Evolution, both of which came with a rating of 8.2L/100km. The economy improvements are thanks, in part, to the new 7G TRONIC PLUS seven-speed transmission, which is standard across the range.

The new C-Class Coupe will go on sale in August for the following prices (excluding on-road costs):
